new member needs help

ok i need your help again. i have a 87 Rx7 automatic non turbo. it has new engine that was installed and broken in about 1500 miles ago. the only mods i have is a air intake .here are my questions.

1) when i hit about 50 or about any constant speed and stay at that speed i can feel a warping or something going rum rum rum rum rum through the steering wheel or seat. im not really sure where it coming from. i do notice when i hit the overdrive button it tends to go away. get annoying though when your on the highway. like i said it an weird thing to explain but i wanna make sure its nothing major like a gear or the engine.

2)a few days ago i was racing a hyndai accent with about 100 pounds of sterio Equip in the trunk, i had him a bit of the start but not by much. when we were on the highway we both were traveling about 65 mph and we both hit the peddle to the floor. now i would think i should have taken of but he stayed right next to me al the way to 90mph. it didnt feel like i was gaining any speed at all . not quickly anyways. any input will help.

3)how do i install a Air fuel ratio guage? mainly the sensor wire? thanks

4) my redline is at 7000 but hte car shifts at 6500 is that normal? or should it go to 7000?

thanks for any help.

The automatics aren't very fast, so that's probably why he could keep up. That vibration/whatever could be your driveshaft is out of balance, tires unbalanced/tire pressure off/flat spots/etc. To hook up an A/F guage you just need to tap into the o2 sensor wire, really not that hard.

well...to start, since every noob will be told this, and Ill be the first to tell you I guess, check to see if your 5th and 6th ports are working. To do this, put a little bit of lithium greese on the pod arms located on the left side of your engine near your exhaust actuator and rev the car and see if the grease moved, if not, then your ports arent opening and youre loosing about 30hp. And your a/f ratio gauge spliced into your o2 sensor wire, another way is through your ecu, where the 02 sensor info goes into the ecu, splice that wire. As for the 6500 shift, not much you can do about that unless you want to spend the money to get a chip that goes into your ecu, most of the time the power drops off at 6500 rpm anyway. And thats all I have for you.

As for your A/F Ratio Gauge Install, follow this. It worked out neat and flawless. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ht=a%2Ff+ratio
