Hello, I'm George. I am the proud owner of an RX-8 and now an RX-7. I loved my 8 so much I thought I would buy an older 7 and see where the roots came from. My project car is a 1988 SE it has no wiring issues what so ever the exterior and interior is perfect, and has no wear in the 50, 000 miles it has on it (minus some stains on the floor mats). The rx7 is currently not running, the lady who had it put it in storage and stopped driving it for 5 years because she bought a Tiburon. This is how I got a hold of it. My big problem with the car is that I have gotten it to start but it seemed to have a misfire or symptoms of, so I started replacing wires, plugs, and all the routine things for a tune up. I'm not sure why but it wont start anymore the rotors turn over fine but it seems that the eng won’t kick over. I know that I have flooded it a couple times, and every time I go through the possess of unflooding the engine and cleaning the plugs but I’m not sure where to go from there. Any help or suggestions would be great, thanks.

My other topic I was wondering about is about the ht18s-2s turbo. Is there an upgrade kit for this turbo, bigger fins, seals, or shaft? Or just a rebuild kit at all, I’m having a very hard time locating it.

Welcome! But if you wanted to see where the roots came from you needed to buy the best selling RX-7, the First Generation, when it was a true sports car Can't stress searching enough, in the FAQ section lies answers to all your questions. Post pics!

If the motor spins it's not carbon lock. Carbon lock is the excess build up of carbon on the apex seals and can lock the motor in place

It's too late now, but this may help:

Now it's time for basic troubleshooting. Do you have fuel? Spark? Compression?
