tell him he is on some serious chronic asking that much for a NA RX7 w/ 160k on the clock.. i would give him at the MOST $1500.. you can buy a turbo'd 7 for 3000 and thats about midrange price too..

the only rotary shops i know of in the LA area are mazdatrix and salazars mazda. im sure theyre are more out there. ive heard of one in alhambra.

as for the car, way to much $$$ for that many miles. if you do get it, compression check it. here's how http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...ion_check.html

it may take you a couple of months to find a nice seven. is your rx7 gonna be a daily driver?

eww..that engine bay is filthy...when a engine bay is that dirty it makes me wonder if work was ever done under the hood. Also makes me scratch my head when i see 160k miles on it. Paint looks not so good in the photos, im usually willing to over look paint issues but i dunno about you. i wouldnt pay more than 2500 for the car honestly..and even thats pushing it.

Good luck with hunting and buying tho...

It isn't worth $3000.

I got my 1990 Vert with a new tranny/clutch assembly, 145k miles, almost prestine top, slight delamination of the clear coat, almost prestine leather interior for only $500.

At 160k miles, I'd be concerned about the motor. IF you do decide to go give it a look over, request for you both or him take it to a rotary shop and have the car tested. Most Rotary specialty shops provide a full pre-purchase diagnostic and compression test for $200. The will test the car, look it all up and down and do compression testing with the mazda tester.

If he is hesitant to go along with it or outright declines, go look somewhere else.
