Talking new kid on the 2nd gen block

ok, im new to the 2nd gen. just got an 87 for cheap (5lug) what are the cheap power mods on this efi crap? oh yea, its n/a. i know air filter, dual exhaust and a good tune up. ive heard of modding the t/b ? not sure on what that intales. also the aux ports, figure on fixing them to the open position. im a prety decent wrench so i dont have much trouble making things or modding ****. i alredy read the thread in port matching the intake, figure its worth it. what i want to do is see how much power i can get out of this sucke with out porting her and with out spending a big wad of cash. thanks for any idears.

im not too good with n/a cars..ive only had turbos, but you seem to have the majority of it down. good exhaust and intake, wiring open the ports, etc. the only thing id add is to remove all the emmisions. the cats, air pump, EGR, ACV, etc, etc. thats all i can think of if you dont want to port it.

As you might have already gathered from the various "Are NAs fast ?" threads, the NAs cannt go too far HP-wise and still be streetable.

Weight reduction is almost mandatory, although you have a good basis already with your model. Other than the usual i/e/h stuff, the TB mod and porting manifold, and removal of airpump, P/S and A/C, you can do only minor stuff, like pulleys, light flywheel and/or upgraded clutch, things like that....
