New Here!

Hey guys, please don't attack the n00b! I was just perusing the classifieds, and came across the RX7s. These things looks really sweet! Most in my area are N/A. I'm curious though, what is so special about the 13b engine? Is that the turbo engine?
This is the add that caught my eye:
AS IS, Body is rust-free (solid tubb!) and 13b engine, has only 15,000 km on it, needs work to pass e-test and tires, must sell quickly, come see it and make an offer, 155,000 km, $2,800

What are your opinions? The rest of the add says its an 87 GS. Any help is appreciated. There are no pictures with the add.

Rick

I'm not very familiar with canadian models but it sounds like a good deal. the 13B isnt turbo the 13BT is. Whats special about it is that it has no pistons, valves, cams, or anything a piston engine has. It only has 3 moving parts. 2 Rotors and a eccentric shaft.

I do know about the components and how rotary engines work. I just have no idea of what different engine designations mean, and their power outputs are.

be warry of e-test work.. maybe a cool car, but could get very expensive if everything has been ripped out. ask the guy if he installed engine, he would have been hard pressed to put the emissions back in if he did.
13b is an engine size mainly, like ford 302 v8 and
chevy 350 v8. 3 sizes of rotary; 12a, 13b, 20b. although the 20b '3 rotor' were never sold here. not to trash the one you found... but look at a few. some rx7 owners are out to lunch, specially the ones who know jack about the car.

a Canadian GS is the same basic car as the USA spec Sport model.
