New fuel pump question

I just received a new Carter fuel pump off rockauto, but I’ve never seen one with this type of setup. No useful instructions but it seems pretty straightforward… but does anyone know what these two large rubber rings are used for?

the P72165 is cataloged for everything under the sun, those two o Rings are probably for something else
the note for the 1990 Rx7 is like this "WARNING: MFR INDICATES THIS IS A CA PROP 65 ITEM, INCL HOSE, CLAMPS, TANK SEAL"

Oh boy okay. So with this in mind is this fuel pump still an acceptable replacement?

looks like we have to splice the cables which I dont like. I think i might just solder the eyelets to the new fuel pump when it arrives and shrink wrap it with a fuel proof shrink wrap.

Not a bad idea. I have no soldering experience so I am going to splice them in with the provided connectors.

@rotarynewb02 soldering mine in.

after soldering. Give it a few good pulls to make sure it doesnt come off. Then use a continuity tester. Move it around making sure it doesnt stop the continuity. Then your all good.
