new to the forum.. my second post hehe

Hello

I've just registered to this website, and I wanted to say Hello

Currenly, I am driving a Subaru STI, but it will be transferred soon to my younger brother, and I will be stuck with a Honda Accord which I have no affection to it... Long and stupid story to explain why this is happening..
RX7 second generation is in my mind to console myself for letting my STI go.

I have looked at ebay, cars.com, autotrader.com, craigslist.com, etc but the choices are too limited either because the sellers are too far away or the price is too high (around 5k or more) for my budget.

My plan is to purchase the car and drive as long as its frame breaks down, since the second generation is known to have low maintenance cost. I am planning to use it as commuting beater as well as racing killer (or killed).

I've been reading the FAQ sheet, and obtained very useful information on how to buy an used-almost-two-decade-old RX7. After reading few sections of the FAQ, it seems to me that engine rebuilt or swap cannot be neglected. This is the reason why I am looking for a cheap-ER RX7 (oximoron? ).
However, I was not able to find good information about the advantages and disadvantages of different models (non turbo, turbo, S4, S5.. *pulling my hair*). Could any 2nd generation owners tell me which model would be a good choice in terms of maintenance (for daily beater use) and upgradability (for racing killer)?

Thanks

Man!! I love these clickable emoticons.

If you want a reliable beater, get an NA. If you want to go fast, get a turbo. There isn't alot of middle ground with these cars unless you plan on spending alot of money.
