hey guys. just wanted to say hello. I joined this forum because i plan on buying an FC soon. I was wondering if anyone can give me some crucial things i should look for in finalizing my choice. Also are there links that give full stats to the FC. I really want something turboed for my next car. Anyways thanks alot!

all i would have to say is make sure you drive it before you buy it, i didnt and mine is at the end of my driveway...for how long no one knows

Well you are in a good area, both San Diego and LA are great places to find a decent condition T2.

Big things I look for might be different than what you look for just depending on what you are using the car for (daily driver? hobbie? FATF? Restoration project?drag car, race car, etc).

So what I looked for for my weekend/hobbie 'vert:

No rust anywhere.
straight frame (IMO: once that front sub-frame is bent the car is not worth fix'n).
Minimal if any body work.
All the expensive parts in decent condition (like tranny/brakes/rear end/glass)

If I needed a daily driver I also would be looking at the compression and how well everything was maintained including the basic car stuff like oil condition/fluid levels and condition/ belts/ etc.

Check out www.socal7s.org and com out one of our meets - there are a bunch of FC owners in the club - the next meet is this saturday (4.06.02) somplace in the inland empire, but we usually join up at the LA zoo parking lot C - details will get posted soon (I Hope)

thats sounds really cool. i think ill stop by. as far as what i want this car for is to just drive it. I really want to get involved in auto-x events and i see that the FC setup is a good way to go. anyways guys thanks for the feedback
