New to the forum

Hi I'm new to the forum, I picked up a 1990 GTU last week tuesday and have been reading the forums for a few weeks now...

Just making a thread so you can prepare yourself for some Noob questions...I know some basic things but for my sake we'll just pretend I don't know anything

I'm hoping to learn more about cars in general but also rotary...FAQ and the Archive have been my nightly read for days now

Just thought I'd say Hi and Happy Easter

Geoff

haha the car really needs paint...buuuuut for the sake of a good thread... (first few are pictures from the previous owner and the ones in the garage are from me...about 2 minutes ago)

Why the car has S4 tails is beyond me...the vin matches up with the breakdown found in the FAQ's and its definately an S5...doesn't bother me anyways

the only thing I can really brag about is the full Racing Beat exhaust that the previous owner put on the car

Rally stripes...holes...missing pieces...primered panels from body repair......it needs work, but that was my reason for buying it

Oh and if anyone was curious at all...I'm 17 but yeah I bought the car with my own money. Long story short - I graduated HS at semester to "work and save money for college" It ended up being that I had too much time on my hands and wanted to get a project car, so I spent $1850 USD on the car annnnnd thats basically where I am right now...

EDIT: Thought I moved the pics to the first post...buuuuut I can't edit that post so they are back here

Welcome to the forums. My guess is it was in some sort of rear end collision and S4 tails were cheap and readily available. That would explain the primered panels and holes in the deck where a spoiler once was. Also noticed an S4 shift ****. Looks like a pretty good find though
