New FC3S owner

I picked up my 87 GLX two days ago and just had some questions posted in the lounge I couldnt get help with so i'll try here. I was reading through the manual last night, mentioned not using synthetic, why is that? Also whats the deal with putting 2 cycle oil in the gas? It helps condition the seals better then the regular oil i've heard, but would it be helpful for my application? Any recommandations on the exhaust?

from what i have gatherd, im still pretty new, synthetic drys up or somehow damages your apex seals, and also doesnt burn as well, the engine is designed to burn smalll amounts of oil, and the synthetc dont burn as well, the 2 cycle oil in the gas.. thats first ive hurd of it

The rotary engine consumes engine oil by design.&nbsp Synthetics do not always burn clean.

Yea, it injects a small amount of oil with the gas to recondition them right? And also my idles kinda high till it gets really warm, about 1400rpm, is that normal or is my A/F off or timing?

Mine does the same thing, it starts at about 1500, goes to 1000, then slowly goes down to a perfect 750. =)

The high idle is normal when its cold. If you "blip" the throttle when its cold, the rpms should go down.

Sometimes I just run 2cycle oil in my gas for the heck of it. Running premix (2cycle oil in the gas) will save your *** in the event that your oil metering pump (OMP) dies.

Yea mine doesnt go down past 1000k even when fully warmed, doesnt rev to smooth in the lower RPMs in neutral but still A LOT quicker then I gave it credit for. Got my first two kills last night : )

Yea I heard about blipping the throttle but it doesnt seem to work. Also on cold engine start up it dies back down after a second unless I keep the revs to 2500-3k for about 30 seconds, running rich maybe?

The way my 88 vert starts is :

Crank key 2 seconds starts
Engine goes to 3,000 for 2 -4 seconds
Then drops to 2000
And slowly drops to 750 when fully warm...

First car was some dude in a V6 accord. I was late for class and i took off kinda quick and I noticed the guy next to me going ***** out. I figured it was a 4 cause I was shifting at 5500-5700 about and wasn't really racing but more or less just playing with it. So at the light I see 5 lug nuts and notice the dual exhaust with the V6 emblem on the bumper. I was really impressed with the FC after seeing that. Well this guy keeps moving up at the light and the left turn arrow turns green (we're going straight) and he gets a false start hahaha. Well the light turned green we both take off (no wheel spin on my part) and im easy 2-3 cars ahead just by the end of first. And on the way back from school that night same thing happened. Light turned green and drove off but the guy in the new 3 series next to me wasn't having that lol. He pulled up next to me while we were going about 60 65? looks at me, looks ahead and floored it. He had the jump on me cause I didnt think he was gonna race but I caught him at about 100-110. Wanted to drive it tonight but the cars getting tuned up rght now. The cars stock for now cause its only been 2 days except for the circular tail lights which the previous owner installed (Did only the jspec FC's have those?), H4 headlights which are cool. They dont look ricey blue, they just emit a really nice clean white light, short shifter (previous owner, even if the throws are shorter, with the shitty shift **** it still slows you down) and yea thats about it.

If you run 2 stroke oil in the gas, do you have to modify anything, like the OMP? or can you just dump some in and have both the OMP working and also be using 2 stroke.
just wondering

It injects the oil into the combustion chambers to lubricate the apex seals as they slide around the rotor housings.
