New FC owner here.

Alright, I picked up an '88 GXL last night for a DD for $450 because my previous beater blew up. I know, you may think it's in horrible condition with cancer everywhere and a stool for the seat, but it's actually in excellent condition for the price. The guy sold it because it was an auto and knows nothing about rotaries.

I only have a couple problems, the worst of it being the tranny. I can only go to a max speed of about 65 mph because the tranny desperately needs work, or at least a good flush. I already have a 5 spd swap in order, but i need a temporary DD before I do the swap.

How do I flush the tranny, or how much would it cost to have it done at a shop? Also, how much fluid does it need? When I'm driving the car, it goes up to 3k RPM and makes a slight whirring noise, and the car seems to buck (if I don't let off the gas) and stay at that speed before going into the other gears.

Can somebody help?

This is one of my best friends and this is his first FC. The problem I actually found to be the 3800 RPM hesitation.
