new exhaust - won't idle

i recently put on a full exhaust, header to mufflers, and now my car doesn't even attempt to stay idle, just dies. all hoses seem to be reattached, O2 sensor hooked up, intake on tight... the only difference i know of is that the chassis to exhaust ground strap is no longer there. anything else i should check for?

like i said, the car doesn't have a bad idle, it just won't even attempt to idle. rpm just drops to zero. drives fine.

thanks,
casiosis.

update: the codes i got that i remember:
1 long light, pause, 4 blinks
" " " " 7 blinks
" " " " 8 blinks... now, to try and find somewhere that lists what all these mean. in the meantime, anyone wanna help?
thanks,
casirolle

thanks to: http://www.1300cc.com/howto/how2/codes.html

matt said he saw a "13", and i saw a 14, 17, and 18, then cut my car off cause all the blinking was just too much to remember.

13 pressure sensor (intake manifold) broken wire, short circuit intake pressure fixed at 760 mmHg (29.9 inhg)

14 atmospheric pressure sensor malfunctioning ECU at. Pressure fixed at 760 mmHg

17 feedback system oxygen sensor output remains 0.55v 10 sec. after F/B system operation beginning feedback system canceled(for EGI)

18 throttle sensor (narrow range) broken wire, short circuit signal fixed at full open

hmmm, not to scare you but when i was having my problems i encountered the same codes at one time.

since, i have put on a new TPS ,TII ECU, AFM, and pressure sensor.

i would add a new exhaust ground just to be same and possibly ground the pressure sensor for starters.

hmm, well, don't hold back, if you're gonna scare me, scare me! you didn't say anything anybit threatening. i don't know what your problems you encountered or anything.
i recently checked my pressure sensor at school, checked out pretty well. my car had been running just fine until i got the header/exhaust put on there. all that **** wouldn't miraculously go kaput.

well, it all went mysteriously kaput for me and i went without it for 3 months, thats the only scarey part.

I was told that a bad part like a TPS could cause other codes
just double check yer AFM connection, and i bet a good ground back on there will prolly help

mr marvel told me the 'tp sensor' was likely bad; the afm is connected well; and i plan to attach a ground strap tomorrow.

so what solved your problem? i can get another ecu in a jiffy, i guess i could see what i need to do to check the AFM and TPS. i must find the host...

Casio, I am betting your problem will be fixed with the ground strap. I always use heavy gauge braided stainless ground straps on my rotaries.
The electrical is total **** on these damn things. I use conductive grease on all the connectors and the first thing I try to do is pull a battery cable and wrestle the carpet back and disconnect all the connectors from the engine harness and ECU, apply the grease and put them back.
It is a pain in the *** but it saves headache in the future.
