New engines?

I'm a newbie at rotary engines. I'm buying an 86 RX7 GXL, its an n/a engine and needs a new ignition. But I would like to get a 13B turbo rotary engine are there places you can buy the complete set? or only places that do rebuilds? If anyone wants to chat more on this with me that would be great. I'd love to know a lot more about rotary engines and how to get my project underway. Look forward to hearing from people.
Thanks for the help
Abby.

I get them in batches so I could supply you with a motor or build if you want. it is highly suggested by everyone to rebuild these motors as they are indeed used and junk yard motors from japan.

As mentioned, you can get a used engine from Japan. Despite what they claim, they are rarely in usable condition as they are junk yard motors. The soft seals in a rotary tend to go bad when sitting (I have first hand experience) so it it is best to rebuild it, and ultimately cost effective in the long run.

correct me if im wrong but, wont you need other things other then just the motor? youll need the tII tranny since the n/a tranny cant handle the extra power let alone the turbo, drive shafts, rear end, and thats only assuming your gonna get the ecu, and wiring harness with that tII motor right? not to mention you are new wankels, not to hate or anything but if you really think you can handle the work yourself give it a go. and if your gonna let a shop do it, i doubt it'll be cheap either. imo, just get a tII

If he stays stock the NA tranny will hold up including rear end. Unless of course its already beat up. No use the NA wire harness and frankly use the N338 ECU as best choice for the S4 cars if you can't find one then the TII ECU will work as well. He does need a TII hood or a front mount. He will need a fuel pump. A TII pressure sensor and AFM. He will need an exhaust and throttle cable as well. Thats it for mandatory stuff.

He could get away with using stock NA drivetrain for a little while though... a STOCK TII engine won't put out much more than 200fwhp.... easily handled by the NA drivetrain. If he starts modding the TII engine, he'll be looking to upgrade his drivetrain ASAP.

or

Would u recommend an s4 or s5? Would I most likely need to rebuild the engines above?

Thanks again.

Blah blah blah.

I am tired of defending the NA driveline.

It will be fine. However you will need to put your NA flywheel on the TII engine to get everything to work.

Search, all of you.
