New engine - Starter Wont Crank

The starter wont crank when I turn the key. All I get is a click. I did all the wires from memory so I dont doubt I missed something in the process. There is a wire that branches off from the oil level sender that is black and red...Whats this go to??? Help please

If you get a click from the starter,,,you are not getting enough (or any) voltage to the starter. Turn on your headlights and try it. If the lights dim severely or go off, you probably have a dead battery. If they stay bright then the problem is in the start circut or starter (solinoid).

If the wire is a single round connector,,, isn't it right (?) under oil. Very small sender.

Its a white connector that branches off from the same part of the harness as the oil level sender. There are 3 other ones in addition to this one I believe. One is a ground and theyre all in the vicinity of the starter. none of them go directly TO the starter.

The click is not a click from the starter it is the relay switching over. Battery has a full charge.

oh, I assumed the wires were short, if you think they go back near the starter, don't they pigtail to wires going to transmission?? If they are that long but don't go back,, aren't there some oil level sensing wires mid block on the pan? Isn't there a temp. sender right near the oil sender?

If the starter has all it's wires (3 right?) but the only click comes from the relay, the relay must be bad or the wire from it to the solinoid is??? Starter has BIG cable from batt.,,,,,solinoid has 2, 1 incoming from relay , and 1 out going thru a fuseable link. The second one is on the output from the solinoid - to - starter (hard wired, internal),,,,,Or am I getting my models mixed up??
