new clutch slipping...help!

I installed a new rp clutch kit in my 89 n/a gxl about 2 weeks ago. Now its slipping a little at high rpm's. I replaced all the seals, so I dont think anything is leaking on to the disk, and it wasnt contaminated before hand. I reserfaced the flywheel and bleed the hydrolics. the only thing that i think it could be would be its not adjusted right? If so, where and how do I adjust the clutch....it kinda doesnt engage untill about half way up. If thats no it, what else could it be? I think I did everything right? Thanks alot

Check for freeplay at top of pedal. There is an adjustment rod, I believe, under the dash if necessary. If the disc isn't contaminated, the only reason it would be slipping is because not enough clamping pressure from the plate, meaning plate fingers aren't coming out all the way.

So there shouldent be freeplay at the top of the pedal? I went under a few minuets ago and adjusted it just so there a little bit of free play on the pedal. becuase thinking about it.........if it needed adjustment, than it would becuase the clutch essentially isnt releasing all the way when your foot is off it? free play or not ahhhhhhhhh. haha thanks for the help so far.

If you installed it backwards I doubt it would go in gear at all. Did you let the clutch break in any before you gave it hell?

Not really, I mean I didnt like dump it or slip it alot, but I did a few high rpm runs............. but I replaced everything and I was told a break in isnt really nessicary unless you just do the disk?

There should be free play at the top of the pedal. The free play would be the movement of the fork/throw out brg riding on the front cover before contacting the pressure plate. Without any freeplay, the throwout brg would be riding on the pressure plate fingers and not allowing the plate to completely "clamp" the disc to the flywheel.
Pros and cons to a break-in period. Regardless of what you did, the disc shouldn't be slipping.

Sure glad it was as easy as an adjustment. Don't need to pulling the trans again.
