New Clutch

Well, my clutch is going out. It was slipping pretty bad today and smelling awfully bad. What are my options? I want to stay pretty close to stock because it is only a street car, but I would like it to be able to handle about 300hp. Any recommendations? How about sources and prices? You guys are the best there is on this topic, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

It sounds like you would be happy with something like an ACT organic street disk or a Center Force Dual Friction unit.

Upon the recommendation of Rob Golden (Pineapple Racing), I went with the Racing Beat Heavy Duty Street/Strip model. I absolutely love the feel of it. And the good thing about any solid marcel clutch is the quick engagement and disengagement, which is better on the tranny synchros. Also, do yourself a favor and upgrade to a SS clutch line when going to a heavier preasure plate. It's worth every penny. Another good idea is to pick up a second flywheel and get it resurfaced before begining the clutch job, so you don't have to go out and get it done in the middle of the job.

Here's a rundown of my clutch job, complete with pictures and a price list of the parts: Clutch Job. Obviously, this is a non-turbo car, but it's basically the same thing.
