New car problems!
Hey everyone, i just bought a 89 gxl. 93000 miles, body is in good shape, interior a little dirty but nothin i cant clean up. It is completely stock, but not for too long. First things first though, i need to get the car in 100% working order. It was fully checked by my mechanic, we did a compression test as well. Everythings good except for a few problems.
1. When stopping, brakes squeak - probobly just cheap brake pads, but when a get below 5 mph i hear a grinding. I think this is due to bad rotors. The bearing is a little loose on the front left wheel, so maybe its something more complicated, maybe not?
2. When going in reverse, i hear a knocking once every tire rotation or so. My mechanic didnt have the time to investigate this one, so i need your input. My suspension links are slightly loose, could this have anythung to do with it? Less time for mechainc to diagnose = more $ next to my cheeks.
3. Windows shake slightly when going down and one is slow going up. I beleive that both of these problems could be solved with some silicon lube along window sill and on moving parts, opinions?
4. After all this is taken care of, and my stereo installed, i want to know what the best way to increase overall performance of the car is at the basic level. I will get a tune up done on it in this whole process but i dont know what i should have included in the tune up.
5. If your a car audio expert please check my threads in the appropriate forum.

The windows - white grease will fix them up very well.
The reverse thing.. I have no idea, but if you have a helper have him do it while you look beside the car... see if you can see anything.
I wouldn't worry much about the brakes. If the car passed safety inspection, just do them the next time they need to be done, and use good pads.
as far as the bearing goes.. they aren't TOO awful to do, and it should be done before the bearing fails, obviously. Mazdatrix has the parts you need.
