New antenna assembly, still doesnt go up.

My antenna is not broke, but it wont go up for some reason. I took the old one out today, because the part that went up was bent and it was stuck. I replaced it with a working one from an 88 GXL. I also have an aftermarket sony head-unit. Is there a fuse for the antenna I can check, or does it not have one. I'm just confused because the Head-unit is hooked up right, I know for sure it is, and the antenna still wont go up. I also hooked the new one up properly, the 4 pin plug is connected to the 4pin female plug, and the male 1/8" plug is connected to the female 1/8" plug.
Any ideas what the problem could be here?

Ok, I checked fuses, all are there, none are popped. Tomorrow I will pull the head-unit out and check the back. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?? Please help.

You need a relay.

I just went through this a couple of weeks ago.

The factory unit is wired in reverse so that when power goes to the antenna it goes down, and now days most head units apply power to raise the mast.

Solution: buy aftermarket antenna to wire into your aftermarket unit.

Works great for me.

There's absolutely no need to replace the antenna; that's just a waste of money. All you need is a relay, wired up as shown in the linked thread.
