new 86 n/a
Welcome to the world of Rx7 ownership. Before the forum rears it's ugly head, I'd like to encourage you to sit back for a few hours and browse the 2nd gen section. We've talked about a lot of stuff, and this, certainly has be covered several times. It will also give you some ideas as to what you'd like to do with your $1500. I'd recommend first, giving it a full tune up and maybe replacing parts which are currently missing or in need of repair or replacement.
Nope. If you check the FAQ "What did my car come with" at the top of the 2nd Gen section, you can get a better handle on the models which were available in each year. The GTU model came out first in 1988 and was more or less the equivalent of the '86-87 Sport: 4-piston brakes, heavy-duty suspension, no power windows, no AAS. The '88 GTU also added LSD and the TII-style seats. Then for '89, the GTU became the base car with none of the upgraded equipment of the S4 GTU.
