Never going to believe this...

my spark plug wires were crossed, trailing going to leading, and leading going to trailing. i was having a idling problem, and a fuel cut type symptom on hard acceleration. what kind of problems could having the wires crossed on these engines due?

i think mine were like that at one time, i know i did it once. it runs fine. i think a car just won't run right while the wires are crossed - i've never heard of any damage.

When I flushed my engine bay, I removed the wires. I crossed the wires too. I had horrible Idle and It was stumbling, almost like an epileptic bull. I noticed no after mat however. I wouldn't worry about It.

I fried my smaller coil one time by messing with it foolishly and the car ran much worse with it dead. I had a low bouncing idle andlost a lot of power and gas mileage. Nothing happened to the engine though. I just bought another coil from the junkyard and all was good, back to its usual ferocious 13b tendencies.
