I think so. I love to talk, and learn about the car I love to drive so I continue to come here, but a lot of the members here as of the past year or so seem to have really bad attitudes and love to intentionally insult other members. I truly live by the if you dont have anything good to say......... philosophy. So few people here understand that way of thinking. Yes, everyone is entitled to there opinion, but the saying isnt everyone is entitled to VOICE there opinion. For example-If my opinion was 2nd gens are crap, and all I ever posted in this section was that, I bet I would get banned(rightfully so).
When i witness it I always defend the member I see getting verbally beat up because others disagreewith what HE did to HIS car. The weird thing is I rarely have any back up. Some will defend thereselves with "well he asked", but today my pregnant wife asked me "am I fat"- do you think I said yes? No cuz I am courteous unlike these members. Another good example-in a recent thread a memeber posted pics of his new bodykit he hadnt had painted yet(bills 2 pay). Instead of compliments he was yelled at as a ricer. WTF is that!! I also think there should be a rule that if you dont have any mods, you should less a right to talk smack to others for theres. There cars may not be ricey, but thats cuz they are bone stock and still slow, and un eyecatching-not very special.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and who areyou to **** in that beholders cheerios? It really goes beyond the cars we drive to respecting the people in your community(in this case a internet community). I witness disrespect here so often now, its depressing. I consider myself a nice person, and it makes me mad to see others trying to hurt people around thems feelings. Do a search with my username- and you wont find a single post that isnt of posotive nature, UNLESS I am defending myself from an unnecessary insult directed at me. Also when was the last time you saw an experienced engine builder on here involve themselves in this sortof bashing? They dont because they are mature, unlike so many others. This negativity I speak of really just shows the level of maturity of the posters doing it, I highly doubt any of them have gotten far in life at all with there attitudes. Either they are teenage punks, or they are adults still in there moms basements.
Anyway, I just am so tired of it.I wont let these "tough guy" types into my shop, I sacrifice the $ for the morals behind it. Its worth it to me. I am intrested in a scene, a sport, and a commradory that seems to not be found here anymore.

I'm sorry you feel that people hate your car but there IS such a thing as "rice." I believe sniper defined it best in his 1000th post. I am sorry but I (as well as everyone else) have an opinion. The heart and soul of an RX-7 are not to be taken lightly. These are amazing car and I don't want to say you defaced that heritage... but you did. The RX-7 is not an Integra. I commend you on your efforts and professional looking mods, but they just don't suit the RX-7, IMHO. But as long as you like it, just say "**** OFF" to me and all the others and you *should* feel better... if you don't, then you have some other issues .

Agreed. This has become more of a 13BT and FD forum than anyhing else. When I first joined, this was the most amazing place for these cars, but now it's becomming pure bullshit. [Certain RX-7's] do not get ANY respect in any way. Like I said before, this is no longer a RX-7 forum but a POS that I know mainly use to 1) help other poor saps out there and 2) *try* to ask questions or post about my car w/o getting destroyed by *******.

It's an automatic, and a base (small wheels, shitty brakes, 4 lugs)
It runs fine, I got it cheap, it has relatively low miles for an 87 (78,600), and I still think of it as an utter piece of ****.

A lot of the members on here put a lot of time, effort and money into well thought out, well executed, and in the eyes of the majority: MEANINGFUL MODS. Mods that are designed to enhance the performance of their car for their purpose. Whether it be AUTOCROSS, Roadracing, Dragracing or cruising.

I for one hold certain "mods" in HIGH DISTANE. ie. ghettocruiser bolt-ons and mold-ons, Video game consoles, silly heavy rims, subwoofer enclosures and the worst one: a computer to run a bunch of crap. Did these mods take a lot of time, effort and money? Maybe?
Did it enhance and intensify the charecteristics of the FC? Doubtful

If you want to play video games: Go to the arcade or stay home. If you want to build a lowrider, there is a place for that, I feel its not here though. If you want altezza's neon, glow in the dark exhaust tips, APC bolt-on accesories feel free to discuss them elsewhere.

This isn't the lowrider custom or Hot import bolt-on forum. This is the FC forum for RX-7's. If you can't stand the heat from the hardcore entusiasts perhaps you should tone down the "perceived ricer aspect" of some of the mods you have performed.

If my reply offends you, I apologize. But if you would leave your posts more performance oriented; ie wastegate mod, and less "ricer" orientated; ie "I got a PS2 to play with in my car" you would most likely get less negativity in return.

Dre-you succesfully just summed up what I am trying to say within a couple minutes. You said "um ever heard of a sleeper". Wouldnt you consider that insulting my inteligance? I would call it that. I just said I run a speedshop-obviously I have heard the term sleeper. Then you totally randomly insult my car , therfore insulting me. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. Why do you do that ****? I never insulted you did I? Why do you post stuff like that? What purpose does it serve? Also if saying "**** off" is what you do to feel better, I think YOU are the one with issues, not me!

I don't express sour grapes on TII VS NA thay are both great cars. I feel the same way about my TII that node does about his car right now. I can't drive/enjoy my NA cause it is down for a rebuild...BIGTIME. Just keep pluggin NODE, get ris of the auto and fix the little ****

Also I think the point was missed that even if one put a triple deck wing on his car and had a wiper in the middle of the windshield with a fake roofscoop, be respectful to other members and keep the negativity to yourselfs. Just because 90% of us think its a queer mod doesnt meen he HAS to be treated like ****.
My initial post wasnt really about the **** I personally have gotten, its about the **** I see tons of people here get. Irrelevant as it is my car backs up appearance,comfort mods with HPmods(well over 100HP beyond stock) , for sure. As i said its still irrelevant to the point at hand, which already seems to have been missed.
I will try very hard not to get angry with the type of replies that are innevitable in this forum.

Hey Node I know what you are talking bout. I have an 87 base and it is fully unloaded. I dont consider it a p.o.s. but I would enjoy some luxury items. But hey less weight removal required.

P.S.- I do agree that there is more negativity than there needs to be. About a year ago you guys would consider me a ricer, some might still. But i have now learned more about cars in general and want to make my car "nicer not ricer."

most of the time when i see a post asking "how does this look" or "what do you think of this" i give my honest opinion. after all thats what they asked for. boostmotorsport, take your car for example, i dont like your tailights and your headlight mods. but its your car, so you can do whatever to it, and im glad you enjoy it. there are a lot of things i dont agree with being done to RX-7s. but its a free country and your allowd to do whatever you want to it. but if you ask me what i think of it, im going to give you an honest answer. i think instead of thinking "if you dont have anything nice to say, then say nothing" it should be "if you dont want to hear a bad answer,then dont ask" do whatever you want to your cars,you have a right to. but be prepared for someone to say it sucks, cuz they have a right to do that to.

Sorry, boostmotorsport, it's just those integra taillights really got to me. It's like just giving all the "haters" you describe more ammo against you. The S5 tailights are the BEST for the FC, nuff said. And I do believe that emulating another car through looks is RICE. All the riceboys puton clear corners and side markers and single wipers to SEEM like a 'better' car. Why are you imitating an Integra? You own an RX-7 and judging by your shop and performance mods, you take pride in it. So KEEP IT AS AN RX-7! There are a few REALLY nice kits out there that update the look of the car.. and still keep it RX-7'ish.

ugh, internet people. I dont even know if you're a guy/girl and if you even own an RX-7. Why do I bother with this forum.. ugh.

I go by the laid factor. Now weaher or not you want/need to get laid is up to you. Some might be married, some might be queer. But its still all about the type of woman you want to attract when it comes to a cars appearance. Now the internal mods are a man thing.. HP, Torque, burining hodas up. Most women could **** less, on the other hand .. if you build a ricer you build a car designated to pickup the type of woman you only want to pickup once. No seriuos offence intended but .. has 3 kids from 3 diferent guys, has the education of a 8 year old, prefers drugs to a job. If you have a very clean looking car inside and out .. looks normal & drives like a raped ape.. you please both; yourself & a decent woman that knows a good ride. If you got a muff pleaser it very likely you will be a muff eater.

On the other hand. I am rarely if ever negative about another persons car.. I just think they want to attract a different woman than I do. I for one go for engine mods first .. if it pleases me, I'm happy. If it pleases me and them... you just got laid.

That was my sarcastic look at another negative post. A post that was about negativity is negative to begin with

dude if you cant handle someone criticizing your car, then you shouldnt own it. if someone doesnt like it, tell em to **** off and forget about them. im not excusing anyones actions, some people do go a little far with their comments. but you shouldnt worry about them. if they dont like your car, then dont worry about them. personaly, my car is ugly as hell, its not even one color, its 3. white, red and rust. i brought my car out to the local hangout and i caught major hell, but you know what? i didnt give a ****, its my car not theirs. i dont mind it not being pretty right now cuz i cant afford to paint it. i spent my cash getting my exhaust and fuel mods. but whats funny is my car is faster than half the people that talked **** about it. let your car speak for itself. if someone doesnt like it, ignore them. if you cant handle someone not liking it, then your in the worng hobby

I think you mistake an honest opinion for negativity. IF someone posts some mod they did, looking for approval(isnt that why most of us do it?) and then someone else states that they dont like that(their rights and tastes) then we get pissed off and regard it as an inslut or negativity.

IF you post something in here, it is for one of 3 reasons:
1) educational, on a topic many people want or need to know about
2) question: "hey, XXX part broke, how do I fix it? "enough said. its why we're here.
3) opinion: "hey, should I raise my FC and put 33's on it for the winter?"

The first type of topic should be kept close to the subject, and kept mainly factual for the benefit of other readers and so the correct procedure/information can come forth.

The 2nd should stay close to topic and only people who really know the answer should reply...not "well, I haeard once that...but Im not real sure, dunno why I posted really, just trying to help"

And the 3rd type should be free to express our opinions on whatever you put in front of us. You'll see that most of us say "that sucks, at least in my opinion, I would never do it, but more power to you" or "lots of time put into it, good work, but not my taste". IT doesnt mean we're insulting you or your work, just saying it is not, in our opinion, something we're interested in. Doesnt make us negative, just honest.

Dude, chill out, boost. Seriously, I agree with FC Drifter, if you can not handle anyone making any criticizism about your car, then don't post. Everyone will comment about someone's car. Hell, g o look for jimlab....you'll see everyone dissing him and bitching about him putting a v-8 in his rx7. Who gives a ****?

I've been told real life off of the intarweb that my car is a slow POS, because it's a rotary, and doesn't have any pistions. That, also because I have a semi-aftermarket exhaust tip, that I'm ricey. Or because my car is from Japan, like hondas, it's a riceboy.

Oh...and speaking of "slow N/as" - of course they will be slow. ALL cars - hate to burst your bubble of an ego-trip - are slow until you mod them. I don't care if your car came 180-200 HP stock - it is still slow until you mod it. Sure, it'll be faster than your "slow" n/a's you call, but who cares?

Sometimes criticizism helps out ya know. Take it for the best or worse. Live with it.

Oh, and ignore dre. Every post, correct, is ignornant and negative comments. Just looking at some posts in the Lounge, he's sometimes cruel to me even. But I usually let that slide, unless I'm being bitchy. Besides that - who cares if he talks about your taillights? Yeah, they are ricy in some eyes, but not yours, who gives a ****?

You do whatever the hell you want with your car, they do whatever the hell they want with theirs. I can't speak for myself of your car, as I never have seen it, but I think the stock tail lights, or even T2 tail lights look good.

Take the engry you do have, and put it on something more useful than get utterly pissed off on the intarnet. I don't like the insults and negatively that happens here, because I am one of teh few who gets those posts in my thread, when I ask a serious question. So ..most of my posts are revolved with MRCCFL or PMs on here. I hate the fact every time I ask a question - NO I am not smart at this, one day I will, but not fully - I get "use search" or "why do you have your car if you don't know about [this quetion]?"

Node, you just need to bring your car down here for the weekend. I can do teh 5speed conversion, and teh 5 lug conversion, with big brakes. I even have a set of GXL rims with good tires to put on it. Then just put an intake and straightpipe on, and youll be bustin' *** and shootin' flames!
