Needs Brake Fluid?
I just noticed today that my brake pedal depresses without much resistance right away, then gets more of a braking feel furthur down. Could that possibly be brake fluid, or something else?

Thats pretty normal..depending on how far it travels (shouldnt be more than an inch or so..)as you need to build up some pressure. But why dont you open up your master cylinder and check the fluid level, just in case Did it not do this before, or something you just took into notice?
Also a quick test to see if you are leaking any pressure: Pump the pedal 3-4 times, then hold it down as hard as you can. The pedal should not move. If it starts to move toward the floor, you are leaking pressure somewhere.

Update, the rubber "brushings" are the problem. Maybe I'll do a writeup about replacing these.
They cost like $2 a piece from my buddy Ray at Malloy's.
