Bet you can't prove me wrong.
So, you can't substantiate your statement.

Back to the simpler side.
When did we advance beyond it?
Go grab a infrared digital thermometer at home depot. The under hood temps right when you pull over and open the hood differ by 16 degrees in my simple tests to satisfy my curiosity. Doesn't mean the engine itself runs cooler, but it does show that the engine bay is breathing better.
What are you measuring?

if anyone has ever seen a wind flow test on one of these cars, I saw video of one a few years ago.
The stock turbo hood is actually not even efficient over something like 40 miles an hour anyway. So we're not talking huge dramatic gains and advantages. Just a little extra air.
You don't need "extra air" in the engine bay, you need more efficient extraction of the air already coming in. Vents designed/sited to do this certainly make sense, a vent designed to bring in (a bit of) air to the top of the dynamic chamber does not.

If the turbo hood did any good on a NA car you should see lower coolant/oil temps ...a small drop in temp of whatever random piece of metal your thermometer is aimed at means nada.

Look, if you want the vented hood for appearance sake, fine, go for it.
Just don't try to claim it's actually useful.
Unless you can prove it, in which case I'll admit I'm wrong.

I wasn't talking about oil or coolant temps. We're talking about ambient air temps around the engine in the engine bay. Very valuable if you take into consideration the fact that we run into so many problems with these cars is because of broken vacuum lines and wires that are hardened and breaking to to age and ambient temperature.

but sounds like you just luv to argue a point...so I'll let you.

also forgot to point out. In my own experiences on a bored *** day with nothing better to do. I've noticed on several instances that a turbo hood on a non turbo car lets the engine bay cool off noticeably faster than the same car with a n/a hood. Heat rises and air flows. Give it somewhere to go and it will go.

I'm not trying to prove thermodynamics here. Just sharing some cause and effect that I've experienced.

see guys, I knew it. random debate continuing here. I can spot em from a mile away as it happens in 90% of the threads on the club.

OP, you should go with both S5 bumpers if you want it to look right. all the other moldings are replacable with S5 varients. use double sided tape and/or urethane glue mentioned earlier to stick them on. you can mix and match molding and bumpers but the designs are different enough between s4 and s5 that you will be able to tell they don't go together. as long as your happy with your car man, do what you do.

/ thread.

If you decided to go with a full paint job, I have an extra set of full S5 moldings.

$100 shipped. The box wouldn't be too big but rather long. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. I rarely ever check threads.
