need some help replacing my rear end..

ive searched around the forum and all i found were lots of questions bout the rear end. not how to replace it. i have a 90 GTu and i bought an LSD from a guy. he says its for NA cars and should just bolt right in and i might have to use some shims. i know i eould have to take all the bolts off the casing to open the rear up, but after that......what do i do?! lol, would it just be able to fall out? do i need to adjust anything? how can i refill the fluid? where would the shims go? on the driveshaft side? any help is appriciated!! thanks

He gave you guts from an N/A LSD? Or the whole pumpkin?

If you have guts I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself. Unless you're educated with setting up backlash as well as being familiar with the workings of the diff in gerneal - it can be a very difficult and possibly self destructive excercise.

If you have a pumpkin then go to Auto Zone and buy a haynes manual. It has a fairly decent coverage of differential removal.

In fact - in either scenario - go buy the haynes manual.

Replacing the diff internals isin't a job you should do yourself. A diff shop has the proper equipment to measure things so your diff doesnt go kaputz I think.

If it's just the pumpkin drop it right in (change the fluid and mounts, however). It's what I did
