guy says it has some idle problems, need to keep revving or it will drop, and obvious hood damage. wanted to know what you guys thought before i even bothered to go look at it.. what could be the cause of idle problems? -don't know much about rotaries.

That sounds like way too much money for a banged up TII that isn't running properly.
I'd first suggest posting a thread with a subject line that'll draw the attention you want - attention from TII owners. Something like:
"banged-up TII f/s ** your thoughts?"
You title for this thread doesn't tell anyone squat about your question, and may well be ignored by people who could provide you with better answers.
