need a resource for identifying connectors by their number/letter designation.

The car I am working on is a 1987 S4 FC non-turbo.

I need to find a resource that can help me identify the name of each connector throughout my front harnesses as well as pin-outs for the connectors.
Some examples are A-12 and Ba-08 just to clarify what I am talking about. I have searched FAQ and used the regular and advanced searches as well as countless Google searches but it is evident to me that i am just striking out with my choice of key words. I appreciate your time thank you.

I'm am looking to identify all connectors in the engine harness and body harness. If someone can find either it would be helpful. I have found a few connectors names here and their but not a complete guide.

The factory service manual (FSM) lists all the connectors and their pinouts.
Download the manual here.

Thank you. I originally was steering away from factory service manuals and looking for pictures of the connectors but I ought to be able to figure it out with that.

Unfortunately there are not S4 wiring guides in those FSMs on that site. What I am able to do is "convert" the S4 connector names to S5. Example the X-01 is a connector in a S4 harness. That same connector is called FE-02 in a S5. That way I have a reference.
