I'm planning to go with a true dual setup without cats. I just ordered the dual outlet header. The system will end with piping welded onto my greddy power extreme mufflers, which are already loud.

I want to keep it fairly quiet, yet I know it will be hard to do with the dual.

So, whats a good way to lessen the noise levels? I'm thinking I can order the racing-beat dual in/outlet silencer and/or throw in some magnaflow silencers or magna-flow mufflers in between the header and greddy mufflers. How well does the racing beat silencer lessen the noise?

Suggestions...BASED upon experience?

Racing beat has probably the best sound level to flow ratio out there but a true dual setup is always going to be louder than OEM or singles. So if you want something quiet you might have picked the wrong choiced.

The full rb setup is the best way to go for noise. You should consider selling your power extreme mufflers. I have the full road race and it is quite nice.

I do have two silencers for those mufflers if you want.

Racing beat! I know the apex World sport exhaust and mufflers were very quiet also, but I dont know if they made those for the fc. I wouldnt like the look of 2 ws mufflers. Go racing beat if you have the money

Is it only me that runs the mazdatrix custom mufflers? They are amazing. Ive tried alot of different mufflers (not rb) but mazdatrix mufflers seems to be the best!

I don't expect it to be quiet. I just want it to be as fairly quiet as possible, thats all.

At first, my greddy power extremes were quiet, and over time they just got loud as hell... I suppose the internal baffling on the muffler just got burned out... or would it have been the presilencers right before it?

Racing beat is cool, but their mufflers aren't quite deep enough to me. The noise level isn't that bad, but I just don't like the slight raspiness (sp?). I know, rotaries are slightly raspy, period.

Keep reviews of mufflers and silencers coming! thanks this helps a ton! oh, and only if you have actual experience with it on an fc.

there is no raspiness with the rb..my car is t2 which turbo muffles out alot of the noise. i know on a na it is higher and more raspy with any exhaust. i played around with several diff exhausts and they couldnt hold up to the heat and got loud fast. i finally bit the bullet and got the rb. i kno there expensive but quality=$. do the right thing and save time.

Im running a racingbeat true dual with a RB presilencer. My mufflers are a pair of dynomax ultra flo welded.
It was quiet when I first installed it.......then during the summer time, it got loud, mostly because of the exhaust leak between the gaskets.

I'm running the exact true dual set up you're asking about on my vert...road race header, rb dual silencer and the larger diameter "turbo" mufflers. Great for a very noticeable power gain and rugged construction. A little loud a first, especially on a vert, but I fixed that with a couple of rb streetport silencers on the y-pipe going to the main mufflers. Expensive, but sounds so effin sweet since an aluminum flywheel lets you rev it so fast. Now even though I want to go turbo at some point, the sound of the duals is the thing I'll miss the most when I have to go to a down pipe and change the system.

Which turbo mufflers and which silencers?

Also, on my greddy power extreme catback, it has two presilencers just before the mufflers. The exhaust was once quiet, now its not. Do you think I could fix it by just replacing the silencers, or is the muffler probably blown?

Racing Beat offers the larger diameter "turbo" mufflers in the short inlet tube "cat back" section of the catalogue or in the longer inlet "road race" style that usually goes with the true dual road race system. I did'nt want to hack up a brand new y-pipe so I just bought some flanges and gaskets for the front and the back (the two inlets on the new main mufflers and a flange for the outlet of the dual presilencer that takes the place of the cat )Then I had my muffler guy make me a new set of pipes to connect the two. This way I also got to pick the diameter of the connecting pipes as well (I'm using 2.25" on each of the connecting pipes) Although the resulting system made lots of power, it was slightly to loud for my tastes, thus the rb straight thru silencers on the connecting pipes.It was expensive but boy does it work great and the sound is very unique

I'm not sure how much I'm making since I have'nt dyno'd the car yet. But it should be noted that my engine has 124k on it with no issues...excellent state of tune,funtioning 5th and 6th ports, no idle problems or tps issues, Racing beat 8lb aluminum flywheel, K&N drop in. Racing Beat claims up to 25 more wheel hp for the duals (vs 18-20 for the collected system) and I believe it. Even as heavy as a vert is, mine moves quite nicely when I need it to and pulls hard thru the gears easily to redline. A friend of mine who has a t2 swap in his gtu was very surprised at how much ballsier my car is then his previously modded na was before the swap

Well, I ordered it all! I figured I would put in the extra money to make it less loud and save money in the long run.

I ordered the dual outlet header, a flange to bolt it up to 2 magnaflow mufflers to lessen the noise, 2 Greddy power extreme presilencers (thanks Roen!), and then it will all end up at my current greddy p. e. mufflers.

I decided to go with 4 new presilencers, which are all known for quality, rather than one-dual presilencer from racing beat. The cost was literally almost the exact same.

I'm so excited, I'll let you all know how it works out!

Omg, there is a thread like right below this, about racing beat mufflers and ****. And whoever said that the dual exhaust is always going to be louder than single is WRONG. If you have dual exhuast that means 2 COUNT EM, 2 MUFFLERS, which means QUIETER. Single conversion is dumb because fc's are made for duals and on top of that if you have the true dual with a pre silencer it is even more quiet because you have 2 mufflers PER ROTOR.

I suppose the main reason for people saying it will be loud is simply because they don't run anything more than maybe one presilencer between the mufflers and header.

Also, people will consider it loud because a dual consists of a header. In contrast with a stock manifold, a header is much louder.

i am running 2 magnaflow 4" inlet/outlet mufflers in series. i believe the cases were about 20" long. it is pretty quiet at idle even though i can stick my arm into my muffler up to my armpit...
