anyway, from what I know, spring don't 'slam' your car unless you cut them.
The lowest one I know is the Intrax 1.75"

Coilover to go anylower.

Here is a place where you can buy these Tien springs, but they are not the HE's like the ones pictured above. HE is a coilover and not just a spring.

http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/t...s/skm62-aub00/

These are Tien S-tech and only lower 1 inch front and rear

Nice photos people!

Cut springs sometimes look good, but the handling.
Bounces like crazy? Could it be dangerous too?

How'r the camber settings? especially the Rear....

This is with GAB coilovers (almost all the way up!) The front end is maybe 2" off the ground, I couldn't even get my foot under it. I have since raised it more, that was almost undrivable.

And I've gotta ask, what's everyone bashing cut springs for? I'll admit, 99% of people cut springs because their cheap/impatient, but technically, if your shocks are appropriate, you'll be good. Blindly saying "cutting springs it stupid", is stupid.

Cutting springs is stupid.

When you cut your springs you make A LOT of heat which destroys the metal and makes your springs weak. Please don't cut your springs.

Would a mod please put a huge warning at the begining of this thread.

It IS very unsafe.

You can cold cut your springs you do know that right. Plus dont some springs come with dead coils that you can cut out to get the desired hieght unless I am horribly mistaken.

How many people here are going to go cold cut their springs when they can just "cut them up perfectly themselves!"

They do have springs like that but they are made to do that. Stock springs aren't.

Cutting stock springs is never exact and most people use a torch or grinder. It can be dangerous.

I just think it is easier and safer to spend $168 and get properly designed springs.

That's a very nice car!
I like that.

I know you're speaking in general to all about
people commenting about the 'cut springs'

All I've noticed is that they look pretty good.
I've seen them bounce and heard other's comments about them.
Some say it's all good, and some say the bad.

I've never experienced it because I haven't cut springs before.
I personally would'nt cut springs or recommend it. If you don't have a steady job, maybe just save up little by little. In a month you'll be able to buy a set of brand new upgraded lowering springs.

Just have a little patience. Save yourself some time from doing all that work and you'll "always" get mocked by others... "Always."

So why do others always mock the 'spring cutters'?
I can't answer that, and I'd rather not 'coz I don't like to offend a fellow FC3s owner.

What I meant by cold cut was remove the spring and cut it with a hacksaw or a sawzall, something that dosnt make the heat of a torch.

As far as me lowering one with stock springs and cutting them. about 1 coil is all I would go around here. I always do the fat kid test. One coil is about a 260lbs fat kid (very crude and I am probably wrong. Have the fat kid put his wieght on the car and just see how far that **** goes down. Then I decide to go though and cut or not.

I do fear ppl that take out like half there spring, its ******* retarded to have a car that low around here. About as low from stock as you wanna go around here is 1-2 inches.

sorry if I sound incoherient kinda tired and ****. Long *** day is all I can say.

Ah... I wasn't sure what you meant about the cold cutting. The hacksaw won't cause as much heat as a torch but it will still heat it up.

Go ahead, grab the blade when you are done.

The final desicion is up to the owner of the car and what he/she thinks is safe.

Anyone I've ever talked to who knows anything about cars/suspension/etc will agree that cutting is dangerous to the driver/passenger/other drivers on the road.

I won't ever ride in or drive a car with cut springs. Let alone drive one to the limit.

Cutting is a pathetic way to lower your car. It hinders more than helps.

AutoRnD 'made' that hood. That is the fiberglass prototype hood for the CF ones they were planning to make. They have like 3, and last I heard, they're having problem finding someone to make them.

If you're interested, give 'em a yell. They had plans to sell them VERY cheap. I'm sure if they get enough interested they'll look harder for a fabricater.
