here. these are RB springs. 17 wheels. not too low. i think its just right. i am missing the front lip which makes the front end look higher. I had rubbing issues with my 225 tires in the front. i had to "roll" the fenders.

looks good... neone else with there car lower then that?

Here's a picture of my old setup (soon to be old :P)
http://www.teamc-4.com/images/NAFC7.jpg Using stock struts and intrax springs.. I'd never buy those springs again, IMO, they are way too soft. Going for TEIN with EDFC Justin |

The guy that sold me my first (couple months ago) FC cut the springs... didn't know about it, thought the car just rode low haha... Well he also put some weird support bars inbetween the springs so that they wouldn't dip too low and bottom out the car... so... it was cutting the springs done... right? Haha
Anyway, I didn't notice for a while... and the new shell I got really shows off the difference. (BTW yes the lowered one was in an accident with some fucker running a red light, no frame damage but plenty of cosmetic to total the car) --Gary |
Started getting dark already, but I grab a few quickies plus some other pics I already had.

I just installed Tokico shocks and Eibach Pro-Kit .8 inch lowering springs on my car last night.. My old (read: original) suspension was so shot that it raised my car up about .5 inch... damn were those front shocks shot!

The car actually does sit quite nicely.. just i don't care for the ride.. but that could be due to the old ass stock blown struts. -justin |

AGX adjustables and I forgot which springs I put on this one. I did have Monroes on it at one time and they lowered the front another half inch. The wheels are Voxx, 16x7.

hey what did you use to cut the springs? I tried cutting my stock ones last night with an electric saw with brand new blades.......(barely scratched the springs) Thinking about using a torch. Do you know of any cheap lowering springs? I just wanna drop my 89 n/a GTUs (with a turbo II hood :) ) 1.5-2 inches.
|
I got my springs from speedmachineperformance.com. They are B+G springs and are IMO (and many others on this forum that I've spoken to) on par with RB springs, and lower the car more than the RB springs (1.5" while RB is 1" I believe). They are also cheaper than RB springs. Only thing that sucked was that they took about 2.5-3 months to get due to the fact that they were backordered and are made in Sweden. I don't know what the situation is right now with them...they may be in stock but ASK FIRST.

its not a good idea to cut springs. but when i did it with my old truck i used a die grinder with a cutting wheel. road like crap.

I'm not sure of the spring rates. I got that setup from RX7.com. I told Rocky I was wanting a suspension setup mainly for autocross but nothing too low or harsh and that is what he sent me along with some front and rear sway bars and front and rear strut tower braces. The ride is a little stiff but not bad enough to complain about. Course I don't drive the car everyday.
|
I bet it handles great though the turns though. I've heard nothing but good things about all that tokico equipment.

Your silver FC look nice with those rims flush on the body. I know you have the following Front = 17x8 235/40 Rear = 17x9 255/40 But what off set did you run? Thanks |

jesus christ people, DO NOT cut your freaking springs!
the rest of you, nice pics. oh and as far as aftermarket springs are concerened, i wouldn't get anything that drops significantly more than an inch. the quality of those are questionable. coil-overs are the way to go... also realize that if your stock springs and struts are worn, getting a 1 inch drop you may not notice any drop at all... |

Tein Flex, car is pretty low but ground clearance is still very good.
235/45R17 on 17x8 +35 fronts 255/45R17 on 17x9 +35 rears (the fronts just barely touch the coilover spring perches, gotta get a spacer in there) I hope these pics arent too big.... http://homepage.mac.com/owen_the_soy...E/DSCN0318.JPG http://homepage.mac.com/owen_the_soy...E/DSCN0322.JPG http://homepage.mac.com/owen_the_soy...E/DSCN0326.JPG |
