need new brakes

ok i bought a 87 base 5 speed. and out of the little problem ,which are a slight miss, exhaust leak, and squeaking brake. i think the brakes are the most important. stopping is a good thing. ok so i have the stupid 4 lug wheels and i believe when something breaks replace it with better, and i do a bit of autocross. so i want slotted rotors and good pads. maybe hawk pads. anyway i know there are cross drilled and slotted rotors on e-bay. but one, i am real cautious about e-bay, and crossed drilled are known for cracking. so anybody know where i can get rotors and pads at??

I think you would be ok with standard rotors from autozone or pepboys. The pads really make the difference. Get some good hawk pads and you will be happy.

i have porterfield R4 compound pads, and so far i am pleased with them. dont worry about glowing rotors...everyone does that if they heat them up enough what you need to be looking at is initial bite, and fade, and pedal pressure, if that is important to you.
i replaced my master cylindar, and upgraded to stainless lines, and the pedal feel is much better, imho

I bought the Power Slot rotors and Hawk pads from RX7store.net and have been very pleased with them.

That's because the Cavalier had crappy undersized brakes even when new.

today i noticed squeaking up in the front. could it be a capiler or the hub. and how hard is it to upgrade to the TII brakes?
