Need a little help on wiring on 88 T2 trans

I put a 88 t2 trans in my 85. And I wanna know what 2 of the 4 wires is for the reverse light... There are 2 male spade connectors, and 2 bullet connectors. I know on my 85 harness which are the reverse wires. One shows 12V ign, and the other goes to the light. so I know that it must pass through a switch in the trans but which wires are which? The other 2 I dont care about are probally neutral safety and top gear switch I guess?

IIRC the red ones are reverse. However, just get a DMM and ohm it out..check one set of wires with the car in reverse until you get continuity. Doesnt matter which way you wire them either, polarity doesnt matter(it isnt actually polarity anyway).

Kevin, I tried that, looking for somethign at least close to 0-1 ohms, neither of the combinations show a result. so maybe the reverse switch is bad?

could very well be. I have had a few people ask me for t2 reverse switches. Im pretty sure it's the red set however. IT should be closed except when in reverse.
