Well, since you say your having your motor rebuilt, and not building a custom engine, you should just get your motor street ported. Bridgeporting will not be good for daily driving. Judging by your pic, you have an SE, now the NA motors have little defuser type things in there exhaust port(right, or is it the intake port?) and this will make it difficult to port the exhaust, and the shop that does the work may not want to do it, but just tell them to cut it out and port it anyways, lol. Going with a street ported motor however, will not really give you a big gain unless you have some other mods such as intake and exhaust. Your looking at around 160 to 170 HP w/ the street ported motor depending on your other mods. You can get up to around 180 to 190HP if you have a good exhaust, intake and porting combo....

yea i just found myself a Apex N1 muffler for $100 shipped what size piping do you think i should go with? i will probably get a high flow cat also and i have an open air filter but am about to but a new intake system and all that. soo nothing else can really be done besides getting a street port, intake, exhaust and header? What about nitrous? or is that not a good idea?

Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question..I thought you were asking what you should do w/ your motor, lol....as for performance mods:

Cone filter w/ cold air(will have to be custom made by you)
Headers, straight pipe, catback...not legal, but big gains.
Remove A/C & P/S
UD Pulley
TB Mod
Port intake manifold
Weight Reduction
Lightweight Flywheel
Good Clutch

After getting really modified you'll want to upgrade your injectors and fuel pump. Be a good idea to get a fuel controller too, such as the APEXi S-AFC. There is a ton of custom stuff and little things you can do, the above list is a good start though
As for the piping to go to that APEXi muffler, I would use 2.5" if you want to maintain a little extra torque, or 3" if you want a little more top end power....its all in what you want. You get the the flanges that you'll need to have welded to the pipe from Mazdatrix.

Yea, you can use NOS too, but you'll want to probably start w/ a fresh motor, or at least make sure the one you have has good compression.
