PLEASE HELP ? Need To Keep it Running For A little While longer 87 turboII
I have an 87 turbo 2 with a leaky water seal, so of course the engines internal pressure forces the water out resulting in high engine temps.
My dad had this car for a while so he gave it to me and i bought a new engine for it. my problem now is that i have to drive it around for a little while longer and i need to know what temporary fixes if any have worked for people. My dad tried to pour radiator stop leak in it, (which didnt work very well).
Since the pressure im trying to fight is being pushed in from the engine it stands to reason that some sort of engine gasket sealer additive should work better.
Any opinions? or experiences?
(i am also very aware this will be only temporary, untill i get the rest of my engine swap parts together)
Thanks everyone

First of all...
Do not bump your threads. It is against the rules of the forum (they are CLEARLY posted at the top).
Bumping your threads after 20 MINUTES also makes you look like an impatient child who thinks his problem is more important than everyone elses.
Now on to your question...
I have no idea how to help you.
Carry lots of extra coolant and take it super easy on the engine

never posted to anyhting before didnt even know what bumping was, never do it again. Although i think i may be doing it now by posting this, this is the last time i swear.
Also i know i should just do the engine swap, im just trying to find out if anyone has any ideas on how to help seal it temporarily.

There is nothing you can do. That stop leak crap just gums up everything. Your best bet is to not drive the car as the more you do, the more you risk warping your engine, which makes it junk. A rebuild, take out and install takes about a week (1 or 2 days to rebuild 4-5 days to let the parts soak in the cleaner. Just do that.

As stated: Any temporary fix will make your old core useless. However, Rotary Resurrection has info on how to temporarily fix a coolant seal. It's basically what you did, but Kevin may have a step, tip or trick you missed.

Just do a rebuild soon because if you keep driving it, it is gonna pop. And 80% of the time t2's pop they ruin housings/rotors too. Dont be a fool, stay in school, drink milk, but fir gods sake do a rebuild!
