General Information:

I have been searching for information for a few weeks, and I finally decided to make a post to try to gather the remaining bits. This is my first thread, so be gentle.

As I noted above, my goal is to restore my RX-7 to stock++ condition. I have no desire to street race even though my car seems to attract the attention of every "wing" in town.

I am curious about restoring the dark blue color of the leather seats. Is there a chemical that can be applied to safely do this?

I have the original deteriorated cargo cover, and I have considered making a replacement from plexiglass covered with thin blue replacement carpet. Any ideas are welcome.

The palm sized triangular trims on the insides of the power mirror mountings are both broken. Does anyone have any extras for sale? What about replacement air vents above the radio? (Damn brittle plastic!)

I have the stock aluminum wheels, but they leak air and are not in good shape. They look okay from 15 feet away, but up close all of the scrapes and discolorations can be seen. What aftermarket wheel would anyone suggest if I want to stay with the 15" diameter wheel size? (I like polished aluminum and darker gunmetal colored rims - no chrome, please!)

I am wondering if changing the air intake to a cone filter is worth the effort. I really want to switch to an electric fan to clean up the engine bay. Removing the stock intake would also free up more space under the hood. Does a cone filter provide any better throttle response or is it just for show? (Has anyone tried to mount their filter on the other side of the radiator for better flow? see:

I do not know the name of the color of my car (light metallic blue). If anyone knows of a place that carries touch up paint for Mazdas, I would be grateful for the information. I might have the car repainted, but I would not do that until next year some time.

Thanks.
