wait a minute. i remember where it went by.

i have an s5 t2 and that came from the right side of the engine bay by those three colored boxes...the ones with hoses coming out of them.

i dont know its function tho

well its some sort of sensor for sure. as for what it does. its beyond me. if it's vestigial might as well cap it off.
