This may have been covered before, and if so I'm sorry. I bought my car 90' GTU about 3 months ago, I didn't get a chance to drive it till today b/c my dad was being an *** hole...So it sat in the garage for 3 months w/ out being taken ou. Well, today when they finally let me take it out I tried starting it, and it made a sound like the battery was dead, i tried like 7 times to get it started. Then my dad came over and played w/ it and after about 15 tries it finally started. We're trying to get it out of the driveway and it will not idle...When it starts it goes up to about 2.5k and then slowely drops and stalls. We drove it around feathering the gas/brake for about 15 minutues and it still wont idle. My dad said when he was driving it was "surgeing" I dont know a whole lot about cars but according to him it feels like the injectors and spraying like they should. This is VERY frustrating espcially since i had to pay over $500 today to get insurance and a tag for the damn thing. I really need help, a LT1 swap is looking really good right about now.

 

adjust the TPS to start with, than we'll go from there

 

Tell your dad these cars love to be driven every day, and hate to sit for long periods...Tell him Wayne said so (like that'll sway his opinion any, lol)

 

LOL, thx wayne, he drove it around while i was at work...when he came to pick me up in it he said the whole way there that it was idling. But on the way back from work it wouldnt...lol, then when we got in my driveway it started idleing again. he talked to me about the TPS also...
