NEED HELP VERY BADDDDDLY throttle sticking need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok.....i have an 87 TII and did a motor swap to an 89. i changed the front cover so i could use the same harness. now heres the prob........... the car was running great and boosting perfect for like 5 min then all of the sudden the throttle stuck wide open??? well i shut the car off and opened the hood and took the intercooler off so i could get to the throttle linkage. for some odd reason the throttle cable was not stuck... it was in normal position. so i started it back up and the motor was stuck wide open. looked under the hood again and the throttle linkage was in normal position so im stumped and need all the advice that u guys can give. if this has happend to anyone else please let me know and let me know how it was fixed.... thanks in advance!!!!!

Take the intercooler off. Look at the front of the throttle body where the black cam runs on the dashpot. See if the secondary throttle plates are returning to the closed position. The black cam is possibly holding the SSECONDARY throttle plates open. The Primary might very well be closed and the cable just dandy. I don't know how else to explain this if you don't know where the black, plastic cam and dashpot are on the front of the thottel body and how it works.
I had that black cam shatter and hold the secondary plates open on my car....once. I have no cam nooo mo. No dashpot on the front of the throttle body either.
It's commonly called *The Black Plastic Cam/Dashpot Throttle Body MOD* on this forum. Use the search engine to see how it's accomplished.
