Need help: throw out bearing?

Ok so it just started doing it about a week ago. When I put in the clutch, it starts making a medium-loud grind/squelling noise(only when clutch is depressed). It shifts nice a smooth and goes into gear fine. Could this be my throw out bearing on my clutch? Is there anything I can do til I can get it into my mechanic? How long does it take to do a clutch job(professional)?

Much appreciated,

Chris

p.s. Im moving to Cali the end of July, Ive already have had to replace rear bearings and rear toe bushings!! all has to happen at the last minute, figures.

nothing you can do to prevent t/o and pilot bearing failure aside from keeping the clutch depressed for as long as necessary. it could be either the throwout or pilot bearing however but both should be replaced anyways during the clutch.

the job generally takes about 5 hours, maybe more depending on how long it takes to resurface the flywheel and if they have a machine in their shop to do it.

Thanks, they have the machinary for just about everything so im not worried too much about that. Resurfacing, is that necessary for a new clutch?

they should resurface the flywheel, for it to break in properly anyways.

Defenitly resurface your flywheel. Last time my clutch was replaced. They didn't resurface my flywheel. The car felt like **** everytime I let the clutch engage. It just never would bite right.
