Need help with reverse lights working after auto--> manual.. already tried searching
ok so heres the story, I am taking over in the middle of someone elses auto to manual swap and no longer have contact with them. My final part is to get the reverse lights working. I have read the write up posted by v8kilr but i have a unique situation.
Where in his write up two clips are mentioned that I need to clip wires from to connect to the reverse light switch on the tranny. Well my clips have been cut off and now i just have wires hanging out of my harness. I need to know which wires (described by color) that I need to hook up to the red wires hanging out ot the transmission. I have looked in the fsm and in the haynes manual but can not find what need.
So what I am asking is, can anyone give me the color of which wires I need to connect to the red reverse light wires and which color wires i need to connect to eachother so I can get these reverse lights to work?? Or any other suggestions??
Thanks for you time and help guys.

B/Y 12V into sensor, R/G 12V out to reverse lights.
I dont have time to trace all the wires for you but go to www.fc3s.org, click how to's ---->manuals. Select the one for your car and download the wiring diagrams. Your basicly interested in reviewing the E.G.I diagrams all your answers will be there

Dude, what do you want? Someone to come and do it for you? No one is going to tell you exactly what to do. We all (those of us who have done this before) had to figure it out on our own, it isnt anything a couple of hours and a DMM, some wire and black tape can't fix.
The switch on the tranny is a simple toggle switch that only makes when the gear is in reverse. There is no polarity to the switch. You supply constant power to one side, and the other side should go out to the wire that feeds the reverse lights. When the tranny goes into reverse, the power feed goes through the switch and out to the reverse lights. How hard can it be? If you cant find a good power wire, run your own from a switched output in the fusebox. You only have to find one wire, the reverse light circuit, and it cant be that hard.

dont even need a DMM, just an MM and a manual
also make sure the power supply lead is ignition switched or the lights will stay on when the car is off if the tranny is left in reverse.

BTW
unfortunatly you never told me the year of your car so for now I will assume it is an 86-88
connect red/green to one wire from trans "doesnt matter which
then connect black yellow to the other wire comming out of the trans
done
got that out of the haynes manual
