Need help, oil issues

hey all,

just bought my first rx7, mk 2 infini 1992, when i got it, everything seemed fine, got home, noticed low oil level, went into work and did oil and filter change.

then, oil leaks out somewhere from the turbo side, till the oil level lowers and it stops.
do they not like being filled to max mark??

secondly, drove it home and parked up, went in for couple of hours, drove fine no miss fires etc.

came out to go to tunnel run in London and started up on misfire, blue smoke out the bake, guessing an oil seal in engine?? once running it does clear, and whilst driving, no smoke and no miss fire. only a starting issue,

what im guessing, fooked seal and once heated up it fills the gap and seals.

any help much needed

cheers

It's normal for high mileage rotary engines to puff a bit of oil smoke on startup. The seals get a little worn and oil seeps past when the rotors are stationary.

As for the oil leak around the turbo, you'll need to degrease the entire area and then run the engine to find the leak. A very common leak is at the drain pipe.

lol, this aint a puff, sometimes it can affect the turn over speed on start up! and didnt do it the first 2 days only since oil change, if the level got low would it sit below the seal lvl and not smoke ?

No.

Maybe you put in a much thinner oil then was originally being used. In warm climates, 20W 50 should be used. 10W 30 in colder areas.
