Unhappy Need Help, No top End

Ok... Long story

I have had the car for 4 month now, and i have
had her running for a 3 days...

i had to replace the thermostat housing bracket(thats what i call it), and on first start of the day, she blows lots O smoke.

Second, ever since then, i have lost ALL top end power..

i can run 1/2 threw third till i hit 60mph normally,

then i can floor it and MAYBE get to 70mph,,WTF???

at 6000 rmp i hear a rattle from the transmittion, -Going to check fluid level today.

what type off fluid do i put in there , Manual Tranmittion gear fluid??

My temp gauge--rises well past hot, then drops to about normal, then does it over and over again..(i think cause i left out the thormostat..-will put that back)

also, i broke the senson on the top of the radiatior..and the check engine cooleant level buzzer(really annonying) is on and wont go off.. must get another one???

anyone got any ideas, or live in MS what to come and help and hang out......I got beer!!

For the love of god don't ever drive your car if its hot. It doesn't matter if you're doing 120 down the highway, if the guage gets to the lower hot line on the guage TURN IT OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Driving while overheating is the best way to destroy your engine! You may have already. And don't disable the coolant level buzzer. The reason it's so annoying is that it's VERY IMPORTANT that you keep your coolant at the proper level. It was probably going off because you didn't properly seal things up when you replaced the thermostat housing and you have a coolant leak. It's very easy to over tighten it and pull it off the sleeves. Do a compression test and a pressure test on your coolant system.

that could be a lot of things...sounds like your car is running way to incredibly rich...not sure. I'd get that thermostat fixed though, it will over heat your car. Good luck.
