Need Help With Japanese FC Models.

Ok, I am in contact with an importer right now about importing an 88 or 89 FC, the problem is that he wants to know which trim level I want and I honestly have no idea on as to the differences between the trim levels in Japan. I was hoping someone here could help me out or show me a website or something. I'm mainly concerned on the options that came on each model.

??? Are you talking R/C ? I've imported 2 1/10th scale clear kits that come with series V (89-91) stickers.

To be more clear, I'm importing an 88 GT-R or GT-X, I just want to know what options the 2 cars came with so I can tell the importer which model car to look for.

The site that icemark found is great, i just can't read kanji so I'm pretty screwed. anything else like that or a text converter and it would be perfect.

I can translate for you if need be. Also I can tell you the differneces between the cars.

There are GTR, GTX GTlimited and Efini versions of the FC in Japan. The GTR comes with 15 inch wheels no sides steps and no front spoiler Also the GTR has the Steel hood. The GTX has all the above with 16 inch wheels. The Efini Versions have the nice bucket seats and storage compartments in the back instead of seats. Also the interior door trim is nicer and they are rated at higher horsepower.

There are some other differnces between the year models. the 86-88 (Zenki) all have Steel hoods. The Zenki GTX version has a mechanical differential that works flawlessly as the 89-91 (kouki) models all have viscous.

Oh yeah and all Zenki (86-88) models are minus fog lights. This leads to the different bumper design and different shaped turn signals. Also the older zenki models have smaller trim on the doors and bumpers which is usually black....as where the kouki cars have wider trim that is the same color as the car. The brake lights are Round on the Kouki's and square on the Zenki's.

There are probably about a million small things that are different between the cars when you include the suspension and engine but basically they look the same aside from the differences I explaned above.
