Need help with ECU numbers FAST!

Ok .. I bought a replacement ECU for my '90 N/A .. and I took it in to be swapped out (while it was in the shop for some other stuff) .. but the numbers on the new and old ECUs don't match .. I know the "new" one is from a '91 N/A ..

The old one is: N35118881 079700-2253
The new one is: N350

Can this new ecu work in my N/A? Will it toast anything?

Please give me feedback ASAP (as they're waiting on my response to put the new one in and I don't want to pay labor twice if I don't have to)

Thanks in advance!

Taken from rotaryresurrection.com :

84-85 GSL-SE N304 18 880A
86-87 NA N326 18 880, N3Y6 18 880
87 Turbo N332 18 880
88 NA N327 18 880
88 Turbo N333 18 880
88 Convertible N338 18 880
89 NA California N350 18 880
89 NA Fed. N351 18 880
89 Conv. CA N352 18 880
89 Conv. Fed. N353 18 880
89 Turbo N370 18 880

NOTE - If there's an "R" at the end, it's a remanufactured ECU. They
also change the last 3 digits to "881". Example - '89 Turbo Reman. -
N370 18 881R. A remanufactured ECU isn't necessarily bad; it DOES mean the ECU was replaced.

So it looks like you had a remanufactured ECU, and the one you have now is not a CA specific ECU. Im not exactly sure what the difference with that is though. It will work and run the car fine, but Im sure there was some emissions-oriented tuning done the the CA ECU

a N350 will Should work fine in place of a N351, you'll probably even get slightly better emissions.
