Need help with Cluster Lights( PLZ no flame)

Yay/WOWzaz My first thread on this! Hi all!

Well anyway. I got my 1986 GXL about a month ago and about 2 weeks ago i noticed that the cluster(the thing that shows speed,RPMs,Oil Preassure,ect.,ect.,) doesnt light up. And yesterday i changed the bulbs and checked the fuse(its ok) and still no lighting?

So ummm. any ideas how to get them to light/help?

did you try turning the headlight switch dial all the way. Its the little round bezel on the end. If you turn that the dash lights get brighter.

if the parking lights work, but all the dimmer leads (including the display in the logicon) are not working, chances are you have a bad headlight switch or the headlight switch harness has burnt up taking part of the headlight switch with it.

I do have rebuilt headlight switches on my webstore/website if you need a replacement for a 10th of what the dealer charges.

And this is covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section. You may wish to read the FAQ for FC before posting as it covers all sorts of common issues such as the one that this thread was started with.
