Need help

I have a 88 vert with a 87 T2 drive train that ran great but had the problems with the gages not working right. With the help of the forum I was able to fix the wiring problems. I also removed my smog equipment and oil inj. at the same time.
Now when I start the car it is running bad and blowing black smoke out the tail pipe. What could I have done wrong?? Any help would be apprecated.
Thanks
Sheldon

Black smoke is unspent fuel, probably burning up in the cat. Sounds like you may be running waaaayyy too rich or weak/no spark to burn it properly somewhere? Search the archives for black smoke, that's where I'd start.

AZ Just want to be able to drive my vert.

I have done searches and have not come up with any thing that helps. I know it is running to rich. I have removed the cat's when I took the smog eq. off. It is some thing I hooked up wrong or did not hook up that is problely the problem I'm just not sure as to where to look for the problem. Could it be the fuel regulator. I'm pulling the Vac. off the LIM. I have seen where others say it should be off the UIM. I would not think it would make a difference.
