Question Need Help!!!

My 1987 RX-7 sat for 2 years before I bought it. It didn't run when I got it but I finally got the car running (though I have No idea how) and it starts up every time now, but new problems have come up, and I need help. One of them is my brakes. I just put a new master cylinder in, I bench bled the master cylinder and the proportionate valve and all 4 corners like 10 times, no air in the lines anymore, but there is still no pedal. anyone know why? Next is, the car doesn't like to idle in gear with the brakes on, such as at a stop light. And last is, it is a A/T - witch is getting switched out for a manual when I get the money - anyway the trans doesn't like to switch to the last gear or over drive without a little help from me tapping the gas pedal. Oh I almost forgot, the car does not go over 70mph like it is governed. Anyone have some answers for me?
Thanks,
Josh

What do you mean by no pedal? Does the pedal not return up to the normal spot after you press the brake? Does the pedal go all the way to the floor but you don't slow down?

The first thing to check is how much fluid is in the resovior. If it is low and you just blead the system chances are you have a leak.

Next is, the car doesn't like to idle in gear with the brakes on, such as at a stop light.
Actually not overly surprising since it sat for a while, and probably wasn't stored properly. Get about 500-100 miles on the car and see if it's any better. Cleaning up your major grounds might help too since they're probably **** by now too. here is a good article http://www.aaroncake.net/RX-7/grounding.htm

You should probably do a FULL tune up on the car; engine, trans and diff oil, all filters including the fuel filter which is often neglected, plugs, wires, coolent flush, and other things that I can't think of off the top of my head. Usually refered to as the "60,000 mile tune up." IIRC, Aaron wrote a good article about taking an RX7 out of incorrect storage which will cover much of that, and you should be able to link to it fron thee link above.

Good Luck
