Need help

Ok when I start my car it turns over and tries to start but I have to tap the gas. I have a 1990 gtu. It has a rebuilt motor in it with bout 600 miles on it. Could this be because there is not enough pressure on the lines or what? or is it still hasn't built up enough compression yet it has ra seals. I know my tps is bad but I am pretty sure that has nothing to do with it correct me if I'm wrong. If I was losing pressure on a fuel line or something would this cause it? Please help me with this starting problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

any number of things could be causing that problem but, what you crank the car over and give the gas a quick tap and it fires up? drive the damn thing until something worthwhile fixing happens - hehe.....

Seriously though:

Were the injectors rebuilt/flowed with the motor?
I am assuming your plugs are new?

I would start by properly calibrating your TPS though, but I would ask - if the car runs and idles, what makes you think the TPS is out of whack?

I would not rule out the TPS... If the computer things that the engine is already getting enough fuel... then its not going to shoot fuel... I have a couple TPS's at the house... you pay for shipping and ill send you one... I just would want to eleminate something you know is bad... If you were having trouble with fuel pressure... I would think that it would be a consistant thing...

Email me at Hproduction38@aol.com if you want a TPS.

I just got another tps I am going to put in today. It doesn't idle "fine" that was my fault. It has a very irradic idle going from about 750-1400 back on forth. Sounds like a cat purring I will see if it is the tps but I checked it with a voltmeter and its not right at all. I will update you. To answer the first question no I didn't get the injectors rebuilt flow tested I plan on sending them to santa cruz to have that done though. thanx.
