I need some expert advice yall I have a 86 non turbo w/48000 miles on it. It has been in storage for 14 years and I have changed all the obvious things including taking the gas tank off cleaning it and recoating it. Anyway when I start it at first it revs to about 3200 couple seconds later a very loud noise like a fan turns on then it drops to about 1500-1700. A really sick noise happens after that like a loose belt but I have tightened them down and they are new.When I drive it every time I gas it (to accelerate) it has the same noise. Now after driving it for a little while when it is in park or at idle it tries to die like it revs up then it sounds like its sucking air or something. This really sucks I cant figure it out PLEASE HELP!

 

After sitting for 14 years, the engine might not be good from what I've read here (this could be misinformation, just an FYI).

Make sure you have replaced almost EVERYTHING: Plugs, wires, filters, all fluids, belts, etc. Best bet might me to take it to a dedicated rotary shop and have them check it out.

..... how the hell did you find an FC that sat for 14 years? Have any pics?
