Need Help

Ok, i just bought a new 2nd gen rx7, its an 86 gxl, and its been nothing but problems, the injectors leak, the alternator blew 2 weeks after i got it,,, and for some unkown reason, it wouldn't start the other day, couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, pull started it and it ran fine to get it home, and started right up the next day on the first try....but now, when just letting off the gas, it seems to decelterate less than it did...anyone have any clue what could be wrong? i dont have any loss in power when accelerating....

thanks for help in advance

You pretty much named every thing that is wrong. Fix/replace the alternator, get the injectors serviced (I recommend www.cruzinperformance.com) and then see if you still have starting problems caused by flooding.

well i already replaced the alternator....and i dont think flooding was the problem, i pulled the fuze, cranked it over, replaced fuse, still wouldn't start (usually that works) tried push starting it, that didn't work either, ended up hookin it up to my jeep and pull started it goin 15 mph....exhaust smelled like it was running really rich, but once i drove about a mile or so, it cleared up (pretty sure it was just gas from flooding in the exaust?)

Any clue what could be causing the deceleration problem that all of the sudden showed up after this?
It idles perfect...timing is a lil off, but not bad....any other info needed to help trouble shoot this?

Thanks again

Next time, crank it several times with those fuses out before putting them back in. If she's hella flooded, one 10-second crank won't be enough to blow all that gas out of the motor.

Also, now that it has flooded, there is gas in your engine oil, thinning it. Your motor won't be lubed as effectively, and it will be a little more prone to flooding than it was before. Change that oil. Drain the oil cooler as well - it will have gas-contaminated oil in it, too. To drain the oil cooler, just disconnect the lower line and let it hang for a while (like 20 minutes.) It takes a little longer for oil to get out of it.

The only device that controls deceleration is the dashpot. Perhaps it needs to be adjusted...? Have a look at the throttle cable at both ends, at the pedal and at the throttle body. Is there anything around or on the wire preventing it from sliding smoothly in and out of its sheath?
Look at the throttle linkage. Does everything travel smoothly and freely? Nothing's getting hung up?
