need help
ok, i got a 91 na vert with 53k miles, all original.
here's what happend. i was doing around 85-90mph and when i let off of the gas i heard something like a backfire and lost all power, ended up stallin out on a hill. Got it started again, still no power, and took it back to my house. Now i got exhaust comin from my engine comartment and my Main cat is glowing red. My first thought was clogged cat, so i pulled it off and gutted it. Started same problem, no power and wont hold idle. So i thought maybe the precat was clogged, pulled it off and gutted it too, same problems. Put brand new plugs in, Same problem. i dont really know what else to do, and actually lookin at the honeycombs from the cat's they all look clean anyways. I was actaully gonna replace the exhaust next weekend, but my wife wrecked my truck same day this **** happend to my 7, so now i got no ride and im out of money cause i got a 500 deductible on my truck. really not havein a good day. anyhelp or ideas would be cool.

First get it compression checked. It may be fine, but you could be chasing problems that aren't even wrong if the motor blew a seal. Also check your airpump. No airpump to the cats will make them glow red. Do you have any error codes on the ECU?
